Calvert Computer Systems, Inc. was
established in 1982 in Athena, OR.
We
are located on Main Street in an office that allows us to provide both
training for our clients and repair facilities for their equipment.
CCSI maintains a collection of public domain / shareware software -- available for duplication; a library of computer related articles / books; and receives and reviews dozens of publications per month. CCSI also maintains a fully operational lab that includes workstations using Linspire, Xandros, Windows and Unix, and a local area network that uses Novell Netware 5, SCO Unixware 7 and Windows 2003 Server. This is the system on which our software is developed and tested. CCSI began providing training services through
Blue Mountain Community
College in 1982, and has developed nearly 100 training courses
(complete with
syllabus, lecture and hands-on activities). Because of our background
in
learning systems, CCSI can rapidly develop additional training courses
as
our clients require. CCSI's principal staff began using and maintaining mainframe computer systems in 1973 (IBM 360 / 370 series), minicomputers in 1974 (DEC and Data General), microcomputers in 1977 (6802 single board, Processor Technology, Radio Shack). At the same time, he earned a BS and MS in Experimental Psychology and worked on a PhD until 1982 when CCSI was created. Initially supporting CP/M systems, CCSI added support for DOS based IBM-PCs (and clones) in 1984, Unix in 1986, OS/2 and Novell Networking in 1987. Microsoft Windows was originally introduced in the mid-1980s, but version 3.0 wasn't released until 1990 -- and CCSI began supporting Windows. We added support for the internet in 1995 and upgraded our in-house systems for such capability. For additional customer support, we established our website in 2000 and began webhosting in 2004. All of this means that CCSI has the resources, ability and track-record to meet nearly any computer-related need for businesses, small office - home offices (SOHO), and personal users.
