To allow for faster connections and logins, Blue Mountain Internet supports Password Authentication Protocol (PAP) at all it's locations.

MAC TCP | Open Transport | Config PPP ]

FREE PPP (PAP Settings)
1. Open Free PPP Setup.
2. Check the box for " Allow Applications to Open Connection"
3. Check the box for "Check Line every 20 seconds"
4. Click on Accounts Tab
5. Edit BMI Connection.
6. Set connect type to "Directly"
7. Type in Username
8. Type in Password
9. Click on Connection Tab
10. Set Port Speed 57600 , 38400 or 19200 ( not 115,200)
11. Set Flow Control to CTS + RTS (DTR)
12. Click on Options Tab
13. On the options screen it should say :
Domain Name : I'm not used.
Primary DNS : Me either.
Secondary DNS : Ditto.
IP Address : Assigned by PPP server.
Blank will also work for the above fields.

MAC TCP Setup (required for FreePPP to work)
1. Click on Apple Icon
2. Click on Control Panels.
3. Click on MacTCP.
4. Click on FreePPP
5. Add Secondary Name Server

OPEN TRANSPORT (PAP Settings)
1. Click on Apple Icon.
2. Click on Control Panels.
3. Click on PPP.
4. Check box for Registered User.
5. Enter Username.
6. Enter Password.
7. Check box to save password.
8. Click on Options.
9. Check box "Flash icon in menu bar while connected"
10. Check box "Disconnect if idle for 30 minutes"
11. Uncheck use BMI connect Script.
12. Click on Protocol.
13. Check box "Allow error correction and compression in modem"
14. Check box "Use TCP header compression"

CONFIG PPP (PAP Settings)
Open the CONFIG PPP Control Panel
1. Set these as follows:
2. Port Name or POP: select the port your modem is connected to (i.e. 'modem port')
3. Idle Timeout: select 'none'
4. Echo Interval: select 'off'
5. Terminal Window (not checked)
6. Hangup on Close (checked)
7. Quiet mode (not checked)
8. Disable Auto Connect (checked) (You may leave this unchecked, so that applications such as Eudora will launch your Interport connection when you double-click them. However, these connections are generally less stable.)
9. PPP server: Interport - You can create a new one if this doesn't exist by clicking on the 'New' button.
Click on CONFIG
Set these as follows:
1. Server name: Interport
2. Port Speed: 19200 for 14.4K modems, 38400 for 28.8K, and 57,600 for 56K
3. Flow Control: select 'CTS and RTS (DTR)' If you get a message that your modem cable doesn't support CTS when you try to dial, choose 'None.'
4. Tone or Pulse, depending on your phone type
5. Phone Number: Click here for a list of our dial-up numbers.
6. Modem Init: can vary by modem, but here are two to get you started. For more information about modems, click here.
7. ATE1V1X1Q0&D0 (those are zeros) or AT&F1
8. Modem Connect timeout: [90] seconds
Click on AUTHENTICATION
1. Auth ID type in your username
2. Password type in your password
3. Click OK
Click on CONNECT SCRIPT ( Make sure the boxes are blank, and the buttons are all marked "Out". )
Click on LCP OPTIONS (Click "Default", then click "OK" )
Click on IPCP OPTIONS ( Click "Default", then click "OK" )
Click on DONE
