If you keep getting the same email messages over and over, it's the result of a condition called POP lock. When your email is stored on our server, it is stored not as discrete messages but as a single file. The sizes of all of the messages combine into one large file. When you connect from Outlook Express, Thunderbird, or any other email program to get your mail, the server tries to send you the entire file. If the entire file is received by your email program, that program will send a message to the server saying the entire file was received. At that point, the server either deletes the messages or marks them as "read". If the file is too large to download, the download times out. After a bit, your email program will reconnect to the server and attempt again to download the file. This cycle can be repeated many times, giving you multiple copies of the same messages.
